Before the concept of prime account, there was only the concept of CSGO Ranked Accounts, Private Rank 2 Accounts & CSGO Accounts with the medal. People who used to have a good amount of wins and medals on their accounts were considered as the superior player in this game. Then on April 2016 valve introduced the prime account concept. This was done to improve the matchmaking system for CSGO. So in April 2016 Valve said that if you want your account to be enabled with prime status then you have to add your mobile number into it. Once your mobile number is added and verified then your account used to be converted into prime account and if you remove the mobile number then your prime status will be disabled and your matchmaking will be against the non prime status players.
WHAT HAPPEN AFTER 6th DECEMBER 2019?
So there were few major changes which gave a new update to CSGO Prime Accounts such as Counterstrike Global Offensive is now a free game for everyone in the world but your account won’t be considered as a prime account. In order to enable your account as prime status, you will have to select any of the following 2 options
- Free Option: play until you reach Private rank level 21 or else we can say Lieutenant Level 21 by playing casual matches, Deathmatches, Competitive matches, etc
- Paid Option: you can directly convert your free CSGO Account into Prime account Enabled by paying 14.99 $ to steam.
There was a huge hype in the CounterStrike Global Offensive after this.

- Once your CSGO prime status is enabled then your matchmaking experienced will be far better as compared to a non prime account as they will only play against the exclusive prime status lobby only.

CAN WE PLAY WITH OUR FRIENDS WHO HAVE FREE CSGO ACCOUNTS?
- you can play with them but unfortunately, you will have to play in non prime lobby only. If you want to play in the prime exclusive lobby then either you have to play solo or else all your lobby mates should have prime status enabled.
